Pranavashya is a dynamic yogasana sequence which you can learn from its main teacher Vinay Kumar (Mysore, South India) or from these teachers worldwide.
Similarly to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga - which is a famous and well established yoga system in the West - Prana Vashya Yoga has its roots in Mysore and is influenced by teaching.of early T. Krishnamacharya.
Prana Vashya Yoga is recognized by yoga practitioners for its various and complex effects on both physical and psychological levels. The practice is dynamic and intensive with a special focus on deep breathing and linking the breath with the movements.
It is a combination of both asana and pranayama practice in one unified approach, utilizing breath holds (kumbhaka) during the asana practice.

The primary series of Prana Vashya Yoga is rather complex and helps to build tremendous stamina, flexibility and strength. The second series consists of advanced asanas and can be gradually introduced for those who already know the primary one.
About Prana Vashya in Vinay's own words:
“Pranayama is such an essential part of yoga, I focused on its relationship to performing the asana and discovered that the asana actually follows the breath and not the other way around if done properly with full awareness. Prana Vashya follows the breath instead of following the movement and maintains the rhythm of the breath throughout the practice. Through breath control, Prana Vashya keeps the attention fixed on the asana, not allowing the mind to wander. Utilizing Kumbhakas (breath locks) in certain movements while performing asana and vinyasa has a very powerful and dynamic effect that develops intense stamina Physically, Physiologically and Psychologically.
