who am I?

"Who am I?" - that is the questions which interests me the most since in my early childhood.
I remember a magic moment when I was a little boy, asking this question myself and - not knowing anything better - just repeating my name "Petr, Petr, ..." until it was not clear who is asking, who is replying and a feeling of something tremendous and immeasurable emerged from the deep within.
...
Slowly such inquiries were substituted with "proper" education and it took many years to realize this question is the most important in yoga as well.

As a graduated IT software engineer, I was drawn to yoga "by chance" , when I was looking for best methods how to train for rock climbing & mountaineering which used to be my passion.

I started with Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in 2002. From primary series to secondary and slowly into some postures from the 3rd series, I was more and more interested not only in underlying yoga philosophy, but in the topic of breath, its relation to the movement and the techniques of pranayama and meditation itself.

In 2007 during my first yoga trip to Mysore (South India) I met young teacher Vinay Kumar who was at that time rather unknown among the western yoga students and who taught his unique asana sequence called "Prana Vashya Yoga".
Although my first study with him lasted only for one month, it completely transformed not only my spine, but my view on asana & pranayama as well.

I found Vinay's approach to yoga inspiring, not to mention his modesty and passion when he was sharing his knowledge with both complete beginners as well as seasoned practitioners.

During my next trips to India I focused only on Prana Vashya Yoga. In January 2009 I finished PVY Teachers Training which qualifies me to introduce other practitioners into this profound yoga practice.
Since then I have slowly developed comprehensive teaching methodology and have taught Prana Vashya Yoga to several hundreds of people from complete yoga beginners to intermediate and advanced practitioners.

In addition to yoga-asana, pranayama & meditation courses, I offer private teaching and organize various yoga workshops within Czech Republic.

In 2012 I found yoga studio "Jemný svět" ("Subtle world"), where various yoga teachers and therapists offer their services in the areas of bodywork and psychotherapy.

I am interested in transpersonal psychology, unfolding of the consciousness using yogic/tantric principles and methods, states of kundalini awakening and spiritual emergency, the moments when the mundane touches the sacred.
